Dr. Carly Dokis, associate professor of anthropology, received an Insight Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) for her research project, Taking Care of Our Stories.
Dr. Odwa Atari, associate professor in the Department of Geography and Geology at Nipissing University, has been awarded a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship, a scholar fellowship program that supports educational projects at African higher education institutions.

Working with professor of history, Dr. Katrina Srigley and video technologist Greg Foster, Dokis’ version of the Nishnaabeg Creation Story he carries has been captured in a video titled Cradling the Heart: an Anishinabek Creation Story.
