Less than a month after finding out Lakers head coach Toivo Koivukoski will lead Team Canada into the World Universiade Games for 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the news broke that two Lakers student-athletes will be joining him.

Jenni Sundin has taken the gold medal in the 63kg category at the Ontario Weightlifting Association’s Scholastic Challenge. Sundin, an international student in Nipissing’s Bachelor of Physical Health and Education, also managed to qualify for the Swedish Nationals in May, based on her performance.
