Student Learning and Transitions
Nipissing University's Office of Student Learning and Transitions supports students in their transition to university, and in developing their academic skills (Academic Writing, Academic Reading, Study Skills, Time Management, Organization, Math skills, Science Skills, and more!) Make an appointment with one of our learning coordinators, drop-in to our Academic Skills Drop-In Centre, visit us to sign up for Peer Tutoring, or to become a Peer Tutor, for help with your Record of Student Development, or to get involved with The Mature and Transfer Student Network. -

We are always looking for knowledgeable tutors who have attained a course score of 75% or higher in the course they would like to tutor. Many tutors choose to tutor in several courses. Our peer tutoring program is a course-specific service providing support in course material at your convenience. Every peer tutor has been through a rigorous approval process, which includes an application, verification that they have achieved a 75% or higher in the courses they would like to tutor, as well as a multi-step training process. If we don’t have a tutor for a course, we will do our best to recruit.
