Student Development and Services

The Academic Skills Drop-In Centres are accessible to all Nipissing University students and provide a peer support network and resource. Peer Educators who operate the centres bring a wealth of experience from a variety of departments. They are trained in helping students on a one-on-one basis with general academic skills such as study strategies, note-taking skills, time management strategies, and more. They are able to provide students with academic resources and referrals to other services.

Nipissing University's Peer Tutoring Program is designed to facilitate the provision of one-on-one peer-led tutoring sessions for students who request course-specific help. This program is in partnership with Nimbus Learning!

Staff, student leaders, and faculty advisors collaborate to create a series of workshops on various topics relevant to student success during their time at Nipissing University!

​During regular business hours and usual campus operations, Student Development and Services (B210) doors are open but we encourage students to contact the secretary at 705-474-3450 Ext: 4507 who will arrange a suitable time to connect you with a counsellor to complete a safety plan.
