    North Bay, ON - The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in financial hardship for many and university students are no exception. In response, Nipissing University has launched a new Student Emergency Fund to provide urgent financial assistance to students unable to cover immediate, essential expenses as a result of the crisis.

    For many students, participating in Nipissing University’s Undergraduate Research Conference is a unique highlight of their university experience.  In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s 13th annual conference could not take place in its typical form, so organizers found a new way to present and celebrate student research.
  • Nipissing University president resigns for new post in Yukon

    Nipissing University’s Board of Governors announced today that President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mike DeGagné, is stepping down to become the president of Yukon University.  DeGagné will remain President of Nipissing until June 30.

    “Dr. DeGagné has been an exceptional leader and has left a permanent mark on the university and broader community especially for his tireless work in the area of Indigenous education,” said Board Chair, Tom Palangio. “On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank Dr. DeGagné for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to the University over the past seven years and wish him all the best in his new role.”
  • Senator Pate to Receive Honorary Degree

    Nipissing University will recognize Senator Kim Pate with an honorary degree, the university’s highest distinction, during a convocation ceremony on March 7 in Ottawa for graduates of Nipissing's College Partnership Program.

Throughout the month of March, Nipissing will be hosting a series of events for the North Bay community, designed to highlight the important research taking place at the University.
