Team Canada’s Kendra Fisher to speak on mental health journey
GeneralAthleticsStudent Development and ServicesTonight at 6 p.m., Nipissing University and Canadore College will welcome former Team Canada hockey goalie, Kendra Fisher, to campus for an inspiring talk about her personal mental health journey and the importance of connection. The event, part of Fisher’s North American post-secondary speaking tour, will take place in the Nipissing Theatre (F213, 100 College Drive, North Bay) and is open to the public. -

Nipissing University joins Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine
GeneralResearchNipissing University has become a Knowledge & Development Partner of Bioenterprise Canada, known as Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations opens new doors into northern Ontario for the Engine’s national network and offers the Nipissing community, including agri-food and food-tech innovators, access to mentorship, partnership and funding support available through Bioenterprise Canada. -
Nipissing U campus closed Friday due to inclement weather forecast
With a severe winter storm in the forecast for tonight and through the weekend, Nipissing University’s campus will be closed on Friday, December 23, 2023 for the safety of students, faculty and staff. -
NU faculty, students participate in International Death Festival
GeneralLast month, Nipissing University was an official sponsor of the International 'Lifting the Lid' Death Festival. Dr. Susan Srigley, Professor and Program Chair of Religions and Cultures at Nipissing, partnered with her colleagues in the United Kingdom, Jo Dagless and Victoria Keen, who founded the event. . A total of 1300 people registered for the festival from 42 countries with 157 collaborators and presenters.
