Nipissing Community Grieves Death of Student

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kelsey Leigh Cunningham on January 7, 2020. Kelsey was a second year student in the Bachelor of Arts in History program.

We offer our deepest sympathies to Kelsey’s family, friends and peers as well as the staff and faculty members at Nipissing who knew her.

Kelsey’s passing is another devastating loss to our Nipissing community, the fourth death this academic year.  It is especially important during these times of tremendous grief that we join together as a community to support one another. To that end, there are numerous supports available that we encourage you to use.

For staff and faculty, the Employee Assistance Program through Aspiria is available for support. For more information on this service, please click on this link.

For students, counsellors are available for support through University Student Counselling Services in B210. They can be contacted at www.nipissingu.ca/counselling or 705-474-3450 ext. 4507.

Students off-campus can contact Connex at https://www.connexontario.ca/ to locate supports in their area or call Good2Talk at 1-866-925-5454.

Funeral details are available here.

As we process this difficult news together, Nipissing remains committed to supporting its students, staff and faculty.
