POSITION TITLE: Research Assistant
CLOSING DATE: November 7, 2025
EMPLOYMENT DATES: November 16, 2025 – March 30, 2026
HOURS OF WORK: 8-10 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: $17.60/hour plus Vacation Pay as determined by HR Policy
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Research Assistant will support a research project in computer graphics and visual computing, focusing on image stylization and texture generation or compression based on state-of-the-art techniques such as 2D and 3D Gaussian Splatting. The position involves implementing and evaluating algorithms and contributing to the development of prototypes and visual demonstrations for research dissemination.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
This position will assist with the following duties:
- Implement, test, and document research prototypes.
- Review recent literature in computer graphics and machine learning for potential integration.
- Assist in preparing research figures, results, and visual demonstrations.
- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and publication materials.
- Maintain organized code repositories and experiment logs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrollment in Computer Science, Data Science, or related undergraduate or graduate program.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Familiarity with computer graphics or computer vision concepts.
- Experience with at least one relevant framework (e.g., PyTorch, OpenGL).
- Ability to work independently, follow research instructions, and document results clearly.
