Recently the university celebrated 25 student leaders at the annual Dave Marshall Leadership Awards. Over the coming months, NU News will introduce each student leader to the wider community with a short article discussing their accomplishments and activities. Today, we are pleased to profile Jessie Trainor, who is working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honours in Criminal Justice, Criminology stream.

    Cangiano has presented research at both national and international academic conferences, including the 2017 Undergraduate Research Conference, the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences, and the Canadian Anthropology Society Conference, and has recently had an abstract of her thesis accepted to be presented at the Society for Applied Anthropology/Canadian Anthropology Society, an international conference to be held in Cuba this spring.

    Rivard has been actively involved within residence both as a volunteer and as a student staff. She has multiple years’ experience volunteering as a Residents’ Council Executive including vice-president Athletics and Wellness and council president.

    Shermet approaches academics collaboratively and insightfully. She goes above and beyond in all of her assignments and is always willing to help her peers. Shermet’s love for the teaching profession is evident in her curiosity for learning and in-depth research on how children learn.
