Aboriginal transitions symposium at NU

*Please note the time correction*Nipissing University’s Office of Aboriginal Initiatives is hosting a symposium titled, Transitions to University for Aboriginal Students, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. and April 30, from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the university’s North Bay campus in the library’s Thomson Reading Room.Speakers and participants will discuss promising practices in transition programming, including cultural support, indigenous knowledge and pedagogical approaches. 

The keynote speaker, presenting at 1:15 p.m., is Dr. Marie Battiste, M'ikmaw Professor of Education at the University of Saskatchewan and one of the world's foremost scholars on Indigenous people's education.
