Whetter reading at Nipissing TODAY

Darryl Whetter

Writer, journalist, editor and professor of English, Darryl Whetter will be reading selections from his works at Nipissing University today, February 15, in room A122, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Whetter published his first book of fiction, A Sharp Tooth in the Fur: Stories, in 2003. It received rave reviews from across Canada and was named to the Globe and Mail’s Top 100 books of 2003.  He has published nearly 75 book reviews for papers such as The Toronto Star, The National Post, The Vancouver Sun, The Globe and Mail, The Montreal Gazette and Detroit’s Metro Times.

Academically, Whetter has published or presented papers on contemporary literature in France, Sweden, Iceland, Germany, India, Canada and the US.

His debut novel, The Push and the Pull, a bicycle odyssey, rolled out in 2008.  He will release his first book of poetry in the spring of 2012.

Whetter was also the Green Party candidate for the Nova Scotia riding of Halifax in the 2008 federal election.
