Lakers’ Den deadline this Friday

Only a few days remain to enter the Lakers’ Den Business Plan Competition for a chance at securing over $200,000 in business start-up assistance. Interested entrepreneurs must submit a copy of their business plan along with a two-minute video pitch to www.lakersden.ca by Friday, March 16.

The final round of competition and awards dinner is open to the public and will take place on April 4 at The Wall. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased from Meghan Venasse (meghanv@nipissingu.ca) in A232.

For complete details about the competition, visit www.lakersden.ca.

The Lakers' Den program challenges youth 29 years of age or younger to develop a business plan and then pitch their ideas to a panel of judges for a chance to win cash prizes and access to over $200,000 in grants and youth loans to launch their business. Lakers' Den is for new, full time, year-round businesses only; students returning to school are not eligible for the full prize package. In order to qualify for prizes, winners must locate their business within the District of Nipissing or the District of Parry Sound. After a series of gruelling competition rounds, the top prize will be awarded to the individual or partnership with the most viable and well-marketed business idea.
