Special lecture on air pollution

Dr. Odwa Atari, assistant professor in the department of Geography at Nipissing University will be presenting a special lecture on Friday, November 4, titled Exposure to Ambient Air Pollution and Mortality in Sarnia: A Cohort Study.

The lecture takes place in room A224 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  It is free of charge and all are welcome.

Atari joined the Department of Geography this summer following a one year post-doc at the Health Analysis Division of Statistics Canada. His research activities and interests focus on population and environmental health, particularly the impacts of air pollution on human health, and GIS applications in health studies. He is currently working on several projects including the Canadian Census Mortality Follow-up, mobility, air pollution modeling and socioeconomic determinants of health.
