Lakers Hockey net perfect weekend

The Nipissing Lakers iced the RMC Paladins on Friday night in North Bay, before beating the University of Toronto Blues in Toronto on Sunday to pick up four big points in OUA hockey action.
On Friday, the Lakers faced the Paladins in front of 1,280 fans at Memorial Gardens. Goaltender Dan Spence came a few Movember whiskers shy of earning a shutout, with RMC notching its only goal at 2:13 of the third period.

The Lakers won the game 3-1 on goals from Doug Clarkson, Matt Paton and Dan Watt.

On Sunday in Toronto, the Lakers scored six unanswered goals en route to a 6-2 victory over the Blues.

Lighting the lamp for the Lakers was Brogan Bailey with two, Marcus Watson, Andrew Marcoux, Brodie Beard and Connor O’Donnell.

With the win, the Lakers (6-1-2) gain some separation from the Blues (4-2-1) and keep pace with the first-place McGill Redmen (6-0-2) atop the OUA East division standings.
