BPHE students hit the ice against faculty

This Friday, December 9, marks the first annual BPHE Student vs Faculty Hockey game at 2 p.m. at North Bay’s historic Memorial Gardens.
Who will triumph…youthful speed and energy, or the wisdom and experience afforded to the grizzled faculty veterans? All that aside, the Food Bank will be the big winner, as the cost to attend this historic match is a donation to the North Bay Food Bank. Plus, any proceeds raised will be directed to Nipissing student Kevin Salzman’s Wheel Across Canada initiative.

Team captain/general manager Mark “Bulldog” Bruner is currently in negotiations with Lakers head coach Mike McParland to offer him the chance to coach this magnificent collection of over-the-hill skaters.

The esteemed Dave Saad, a member of the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame and a former OHL referee, someone famous for his intelligence, fairness and speed, not to mention his good looks, has agreed to referee the game.

The faculty roster boasts an impressive degree of, ahem…experience…featuring:

Jim “Big Mac” McAuliffe
Mark “Bulldog” Bruner
Dean “Kristi Yamaguchi” Hay
Graydon “Gorgeous” Raymer
Gil “the Thrill” Pharand
Bob “Lead” Pipe
Jeremie “Mr. C” Carreau
