Ready to make learning more interactive?

In this hands-on session, you'll create a drag-and-drop activity from scratch while learning the basics of H5P and the Lumi editor. You'll leave with a completed activity, a solid understanding of the H5P workflow, and the confidence to experiment with a wide range of interactive learning templates and activities.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Explain the purpose and value of H5P as a tool for creating interactive learning experiences that promote learner engagement and active participation.
  2. Describe the relationship between H5P content types and the Lumi editor, and how they work together to support the design and development of interactive learning activities.
  3. Apply a basic workflow in the Lumi editor to create, edit, and test an H5P drag-and-drop learning activity.

Note: This session is in-person only
*Instructions will be emailed prior to the session on how to install Lumi on your device. It will be needed your H5P activity.

Facilitator Bio

Kyle Charron is a Learning Systems Technologist with Nipissing University's Centre for Teaching and Learning, as well as an occasional instructor in Sociology and Computer Science for the Faculty of Arts and Science at Nipissing University. Kyle has taught in both blended and online learning environments. His areas of focus include quantitative and qualitative analysis, universal design, and the use and creation of non-traditional media. Kyle teaches introductory sociology, technical and media skills using markup and scripting languages, database design and use, and rich media creation.
