Dr. Patrick Maher appointed UArctic x LRF Research Fellow to address Arctic maritime safety
GeneralPhysical and Health EducationDr. Patrick Maher, a professor in Nipissing University’s School of Physical and Health Education, has been named a research fellow under the University of the Arctic (UArctic) and Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) initiative. This initiative focuses on enhancing understanding and mitigating the risks associated with maritime activities in the Arctic. -

Lynnette Leeseberg Stamler Nursing Entrance Award
Awarded to a full-time student entering the Nursing program who demonstrates academic excellence (minimum 80% average) and dedicated community service in health care, but who does not qualify for one of Nipissing University's major entrance awards or scholarships. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP. Complete a Nipissing University Application for Entrance Awards, available on our website in early March. Deadline: May 1.

Ishwariya Ramakrishnan Award
Awarded to a full-time Nipissing University student pursuing a business degree or diploma. The recipient must have a minimum of 75% average and a Record of Student Development with the Office of Student Development Services. The recipient must demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and on-campus community involvement.

The Stuart Kidd Memorial Award
This award is presented annually to a deserving 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in the field of economics (Bachelor of Arts in Economics) or business administration (Bachelor of Business Administration). The recipient must demonstrate financial need.

Libby Gibson Memorial Award
Established by the Dr. Herbert A. Bruce Chapter IODE to honour the life of Libby Gibson. This award recognizes her 60 plus years of community service through her dedicated support for many IODE projects and her participation in the operation of the organization. The award is presented to a full-time 4th year Nipissing University student enrolled in the BScN program who demonstrates financial need and academic merit.
