Overview:
We are recruiting for a Junior Programmer to support our client, the Department of National Defence, for Programmer Analysts to work on software applications to support the operations of the Department.
Overview/Requirement:
Following is an overview of deliverables:
- select and incorporate available software programs;
- design detailed programs, flow charts, and diagrams indicating mathematical computation and
- sequence of machine operations necessary to copy and process data and print the results;
- translate detailed flow charts into coded machine instructions and confer with technical personnel in planning programs;
- verify accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing sample data, and testing them by means of system acceptance test runs made by operating personnel;
- correct program errors by revising instructions or altering the sequence of operations;
- test instructions, and assemble specifications, flow charts, diagrams, layouts, programming and operating instructions to document applications for later modification or reference;
- create and modify code and software;
- create and modify screens and reports;
- design methods and procedures for small computer systems, and sub-system of larger systems;
- produce forms, manuals, programs, data files, and procedures for systems and/or applications; and
- perform any other Work related to this category.
Technical Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience or education with one of the following languages: ADA, Java, C#, C++
Education:
- Must have: University degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development or similar discipline
Lived Experience:
- Indigenous lived experience is an integral part of this position. The role will have a close relationship with the Indigenous Community in Canada and for Government of Canada positions that are part of the PSIB-Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business or IPP-Indigenous Participation Plans. Candidates will be required to have Indigenous lived experience from Canada’s Indigenous community to perform the role.
