POSITION TITLE: Varsity Student Photographer

EMPLOYMENT DATES: September 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027
HOURS OF WORK: Up to 20 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: $17.60/hour plus vacation pay in accordance with the ESA
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Varsity Student Photographer will support the Athletics Department by capturing high-quality images of varsity games, athletes, and game day experiences. This role contributes to the promotion and documentation of Nipissing University’s varsity sports through visual storytelling.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Photograph varsity home games, team events, and promotional activities, capturing key moments, game action, and fan experience.
- Produce high-quality, well-composed images that reflect the energy and professionalism of Nipissing Lakers Athletics.
- Edit and organize images in a timely manner for use across social media, website, and marketing materials.
- Select and deliver priority images shortly after games/events to support real-time or next-day content needs.
- Collaborate with the Sports Information& Game Day Coordinator to understand content priorities, game storylines, and deadlines.
- Maintain organized file management systems, including proper labeling, storage, and archiving of images.
- Maintain a consistent and professional visual style aligned with Nipissing University and Lakers Athletics branding standards.
- Capture a variety of content types, including action shots, team photos, candid moments, and promotional imagery.
- Support special projects such as athlete features, recruitment materials, and event promotions as needed.
- Work collaboratively with Athletics staff, coaches, and student-athletes to capture requested content.
- Assist with other game day duties as required, supporting overall event operations.
- Represent Nipissing Lakers Athletics in a professional and positive manner at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current Nipissing University student
