Position Title: Print Plus Student Assistant
Closing Date: Open until filled
Employment Dates: September 2026-April 2027
Hours of Work: ~15 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $17.60/hour plus vacation pay in accordance with the ESA
Job Description:
Student Assistants play a key role in supporting the in-house Print Shop, enabling the team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused printing services to university staff, faculty, students, and external clients. By supporting staff throughout the academic year, Student Assistants contribute to efficient daily operations and help maintain service standards.
Duties Include:
- Deliver a range of print shop services, including high-volume printing, copying, binding, scanning, and basic data entry.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Safely lift and transport materials and supplies, including boxes of paper.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on standard print shop equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service, including accurately processing cash, debit, and credit transaction
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a current Nipissing University student
- Must apply and be approved for the NUWORK Program (see link below to apply for NUWORK Program)
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service-focused environment.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Adobe software, and web-based tools.
- Experience handling cash transactions is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with print shop equipment is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
