Job Description:
The Department of Political Science, Philosophy and Economics is seeking a teaching assistant for ECON 1006 Introduction to Microeconomics for Fall 2026.
Duties Include:
Reporting to the course instructor, the Economics Teaching Assistant will:
- Conduct weekly in-person one-hour tutorials for ECON 1006 Introduction to Microeconomics on the North Bay campus
- Assist in the proctoring of term tests on the North Bay campus
- Review and provide feedback to students on their tutorial worksheets
- Answer questions from students via email
- Make note of student concerns and frequently asked questions
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum grade of 82 percent in ECON 1006 Introduction to Microeconomics, or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at Nipissing University with upper year standing (2nd year or higher) or in graduate studies
- A keen interest in Economics
- An interest or experience in teaching is an asset
