KPMG Indigenous Travel Bursary
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$1,000.00Established to support Nipissing self-identifying Indigenous students with eligible travel expenses incurred while travelling to campus for in-person learning. Recipients must be full-time Nipissing University students enrolled in any degree program. Recipients are selected by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid and Student Awards. Preference is given to students traveling from remote communities with no road access, based on need. -
KPMG Indigenous Residence Bursary
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$500.00Established to support Nipissing self-identifying Indigenous students with the residence expenses. Awarded to full-time students Nipissing students who self-identify as Indigenous and reside in any of the Nipissing residence buildings. Recipients must demonstrate financial need. KPMG Nipissing First Nation Bursary
Scholarships, Bursaries & AwardsAward Value$1,000.00Established to support self-identifying Indigenous students who are members of Nipissing First Nation. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and entering their first year of study in an undergraduate degree program, or the Indigenous Foundations Program, at Nipissing University. College transfer students with less than 18 credits will also be considered. In the event there are not enough applicants from Nipissing First Nation, the funding will be open to all Indigenous Students. The Ledger Family Legacy Award

The Kristine Ledger Award is presented to a female varsity athlete playing on the Nipissing Women’s Volleyball team. The recipient must demonstrate characteristics that Kristine displayed during her time with the Lakers such as hard work, dedication, competitiveness and resiliency. The Kenneth Ross Memorial Award

Alumni, Lea Cruickshank, who graduated from the Bachelor of Education program in 2021. This
award recognizes Ken’s passion for sports and his love of hockey. The award is presented to a
full-time male or female student in the Bachelor of Education program. The recipient must also
demonstrate academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student who currently plays

here at Nipissing and that what they do matters.
To qualify for the Positive Impact Award, students must write a heartfelt impact statement on how a
faculty or staff member has enriched either their life or enriched the Nipissing University community. The award is open to all Nipissing University students, recipients are selected by committee based on their submitted statement. Application required -
Libby Gibson Memorial Award

recognizes her 60 plus years of community service through her dedicated support for many IODE projects
and her participation in the operation of the organization. The award is presented to a full-time 4th year
Nipissing University student enrolled in the BScN program who demonstrates financial need and
