Full-time Support Staff (2 month contract)

Reporting to the Caretaker Supervisor, the Caretaker is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the interior and the exterior of various Nipissing University buildings and surrounding grounds/area. 

The Caretaker will be required to work evening hours, which may include weekend work. The Caretaker may also be called in after their regularly scheduled shift for emergencies or other duties and/or needs. The hours of work may rotate and be flexible depending on the needs of the department.  The Caretaker will be notified in advance of any changes to the regularly scheduled shifts as outlined in Article 22.02 of the collective agreement. Please note that shifts are subject to change; however, the shift currently available is a day shift from Tuesday to Saturday.  

The successful candidate will have a Grade 12 Diploma, combined with one year of relevant work experience. The successful candidate must have a valid G driver's license and provide a negative Criminal Record Check prior to the employment start date (i.e. not been convicted of a criminal offence for which a pardon has not been granted).

This position is classified at Wage Grade 30, with a wage range from $24.09 per hour (Step 1) to $30.50 per hour (Step 9), based on a 35-hour work week. Placement within the salary range will be determined based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
