Job Description:              

Retail & Hospitality Assistants are responsible for delivering fast, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service at Lakers Pop-Up Shops during Nipissing Lakers athletic events. Retail & Hospitality Assistants welcome and assist customers at the sales table, maintain accurate merchandise inventory, and deliver exceptional customer service throughout each event. The Retail & Hospitality Services Assistant will have a good understanding of product features and the ability to recommend products based on customer needs.

In addition to providing support at Lakers Pop-Up shops, the Retail & Hospitality Services Assistant will provide administrative support to the Summer Accommodations portfolio, answering inquiries, creating reports and escalating concerns or complaints to the Ancillary Revenue Supervisor.

Please note that most of the job requires untraditional working hours: evenings and weekends are required for presence at athletics events.

NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT

  • 20 hrs/week
  • Scheduled based on operational needs
  • May require availability on short notice
  • Shifts will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Duties Include:

  • Greeting customers in a prompt, friendly manner
  • Identifying customer requirements
  • Answering questions related to products features and stock levels
  • Assisting customers through the purchase process
  • Completing transactions in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Stocking, preparing and displaying merchandise for pop-up shops
  • Assisting in physical inventory counts
  • Identifying and reporting low inventory levels
  • Monitoring Lakers Shop and Summer Accommodations email accounts, Responding to general inquiries regarding reservations, amenities, services, policies, and event information.

Sample Work Division: 

80% Lakers Pop-Up Shop Facilitation; 20% administrative and other related duties   

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate competent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with basic computer equipment (iPad, printers, point of sale machines, etc.)
  • Ability to respond to emails in a professional, courteous, and timely manner while maintaining a high standard of customer service
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk around for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift more than 30lbs
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
