Acting for Stage and Screen

Acting for Stage & Screen to Bachelor of Arts (English Studies)

Graduates of a three-year Acting for Stage and Screen diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Arts degree with an Honours Specialization or Specialization in English Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits.

Graduates a two-year Acting for Stage and Screen diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Arts degree with an Honours Specialization or Specialization in English Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.

Advanced Technology Diploma

Advanced Technology Diploma to Honours Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of any three-year Technology diploma program from Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program with transfer credit to a maximum of 51 credits.


Advanced Technology Diploma to Bachelor of Commerce (three year)

Graduates of a three-year Technology Advanced diploma from Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree) with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.

Behavioural Science (two-year diploma)

Behavioural Science Technician to Bachelor of Arts (Child & Family Studies)

Graduates of a Behavioural Science two-year college diploma program at an accredited Ontario College with a cumulative average equivalent to 70% or better be considered for admission to the BA Honours Specialization, Specialization or a four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum 45 credits.

Behavioural Science (three-year diploma)

Behavioural Science Technology to Bachelor of Arts (Child & Family Studies)

Graduates of a Behavioural Science three-year advanced college diploma program at an accredited Ontario College with a cumulative average equivalent to 70% or better be considered for admission to the BA Honours Specialization, Specialization or a four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum 60 credits.

Biotechnology (two-year)

Biotechnology to Bachelor of Science (Environmental Biology and Technology)

Graduates of the Biotechnology (two-year) diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Science Honours Specialization or Specialization Environmental Biology and Technology program with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits.


Biotechnology to Bachelor of Science (Biology)

Graduates of the Biotechnology (two-year) diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Science Honours Specialization or Specialization in Biology degree program with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits.

Biotechnology (three-year)

Biotechnology to Bachelor of Science (Environmental Biology and Technology)

Graduates of the Biotechnology (three-year) diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Science Honours Specialization or Specialization Environmental Biology and Technology program with transfer credit to a maximum of 69 credits.


Biotechnology to Bachelor of Science (Biology)

Graduates of the Biotechnology (three-year) diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Science Honours Specialization or Specialization in Biology degree program with transfer credit to a maximum of 69 credits.

Business (two-year diploma)

Honours Bachelor of Business Administration

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree with transfer credits to a maximum of 42 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program at Nipissing University in North Bay.


Honours Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 78 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program with transfer credits to a maximum of 60 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program at Nipissing University in North Bay or online as an independent learner.

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at Canadore College with an overall average of least 72 percent, but less than 78 percent, percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.


Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree)

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree) with transfer credits to a maximum of 30 credits. Admitted students would be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.

Community & Justice Services

Community & Justice Services to Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (Corrections Stream) 

Graduates of a two-year Community and Justice Services diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 75 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice program (Corrections Stream) with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits.

Applicants with an overall average of at least 70 percent, but below 75 percent, will be considered for other programs and a maximum of 30 credits of transfer credit will be granted.

Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Education to Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates of the Early Childhood Education diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Early Childhood Education to Bachelor of Arts (Sociology)

Graduates of the Early Childhood Education diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Sociology with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Bachelor of Arts Pathways

Graduates of the Early Childhood Education diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to Bachelor of Arts programs with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits.

Environmental Protection & Compliance

Environmental Protection Technician/Technologist Diploma to Bachelor of Science (Environmental Biology & Technology)

Graduates of the Environmental Technician or Technologist – Protection and Compliance diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Science degree with an Honours Specialization or Specialization in Environmental Biology & Technology with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits.

Graduates of the IWAP diploma programs at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Social Work program with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits.

During Year 2 of the Bachelor of Social Work program, students must apply for admission consideration to the professional years (Years 3 & 4) of the program. Admission to the first or second year of the Bachelor of Social Work program does not guarantee acceptance into the professional years.

Law Clerk

Law Clerk to Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (Legal Studies and Administration Stream) 

Graduates of a two-year Law Clerk diploma program at Canadore College with an overall program average of at least 75 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice program (Legal Studies and Administration Stream) with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits. 

Applicants with an overall program average of at least 70 percent, but less than 75 percent, will be considered for other programs and a maximum of 30 credits of transfer credit will be granted. 

Mental Health & Addictions Worker

Mental Health & Addictions Worker to Bachelor of Arts (Child & Family Studies)

Graduates of the Mental Health & Addictions Worker diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.

Graduates of the Mental Health & Addiction Worker diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Social Work program with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits.

Graduates of the Occupational Therapist & Physiotherapist Assistant diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits.

Police Foundations

Police Foundations to Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (Policing Stream)

Graduates of a two-year Police Foundations diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 75 percent will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice program (Policing Stream) with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits.

Applicants with an overall average of at least 70 percent, but below 75 percent, will be considered for other programs and a maximum of 30 credits of transfer credit will be granted.

Practical Nursing (for Employed Registered Practical Nurses only)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Nipissing University offers currently employed Registered Practical Nurses the opportunity to complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree through a blended delivery option.  Admission consideration will be given to applicants who have successfully completed a two-year Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) diploma (not certificate) from Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent.

Applicants must also be a current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as an RPN and be an employee (with a letter of support) of one Nipissing’s partner health care agencies.

This is a limited enrolment program. The minimum GPA required for admission consideration may be higher than the stated minimum. There are two intakes per year (January and September).

Recreation Therapy or Recreation and Leisure Studies

Recreation Therapy or Recreation & Leisure Studies to Bachelor of Physical & Health Education

Graduates of the Recreation Therapy or Recreation & Leisure Studies programs at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 72 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program with transfer credit to a maximum of 42 credits.

Social Service Worker to Bachelor of Arts (Child & Family Studies)

Graduates of the Social Service Worker diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year Major in Child & Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.


Social Service Worker to Bachelor of Arts (Social Welfare & Social Development)

Graduates a the Social Service Worker diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization or Specialization in Social Welfare and Social Development with transfer credit as follows:

  • 70 percent - 30 credits
  • 75 percent - 36 credits
  • 80 percent - 45 credits
  • 85 percent - 60 credits

Graduates of the Social Service Worker diploma program at Canadore College with an overall average of at least 70 percent will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization, Specialization or Major (four year) in Sociology with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits.
