Next Steps
Official Transcript Requests - February 8, 2023 @ 4:30 pm EST
The first step on your to do list is to request official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions (college and university) you have attended or are currently attending. Transcripts submitted at the time of application must show all courses required for admission consideration as either completed or in progress. It is your responsibility to ensure that all courses (completed and in progress) appear on your transcript that is sent by your institution.
Include all transcripts from institutions attended on a Letter of Permission even if courses are incomplete and grades do not appear on the transcript.
When ordering your transcript(s) please keep the deadline date in mind. Choose an option that will ensure that we receive your transcript by the deadline.
- If you attended an Ontario college or university, use the online transcript request option found as part of your OUAC application.
- If you attended a non-Ontario college or university, contact the institution(s) to request your transcript(s) and have them sent directly to the Office of the Registrar – Admissions, Nipissing University.
- If you attended a postsecondary institution outside of Canada or the United States, you must have your foreign transcripts assessed by World Education Services (WES). We require a WES Credential Evaluation Report, including a course-by-course analysis. WES evaluations must be sent directly to the Admissions Office and must be received by the transcript deadline. Note: If you attended an international institution on exchange from your Canadian-based home university, you do not need a WES evaluation.
Exceptions
- Current Nipissing students and Nipissing graduates do not need to order or send Nipissing transcripts
- If you attended Nipissing prior to 1992, you are considered a Laurentian University student and must request that transcript.
- If your name is different than what appears on your official transcript(s), submit legal proof of name change (if applicable) to Nipissing University by February 8, 2023 at 4:30 pm EST.
- Applicants with English-language proficiency results must submit them to Nipissing University by February 8, 2023 at 4:30 pm EST.
- If you applied through or had your application transferred to Nipissing’s International Application portal, please follow the instructions you have been provided regarding submission of your transcripts.
Casper Assessment - Immediately (see Casper website) for test dates)
The next thing you will want to do is to book your Casper assessment test date.
All applicants are required to complete the online Casper (Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics) assessment. Casper is an online test which assesses for non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics that Nipissing believes are important for successful students and graduates of the Scholar Practitioner program.
To schedule your Casper test, visit www.takealtus.com and register using your OUAC Reference number. You will be provided with a limited number of testing dates and times. Please note that these are the only testing dates available for your Casper test. There will be no additional tests scheduled. Please use an email address that you check regularly; there may be updates to the test schedule. We do not require you to have written the test by the application/document deadline. You can choose to write on any of the available test dates. However, it is recommended that you register for a test date by the document deadline. Note: Nipissing does not require Snapshot or Duet.

Course Requirement Summary Form – February 8, 2023 @ 4:30 pm EST
The Course Requirement Summary form allows you to indicate the courses that you feel meet the required prerequisites for admission consideration. The form assists Admissions with the assessment of your application. It by no means guarantees that you have met the required prerequisite course requirements. It is up to the discretion of the Admission Office to determine if the courses you have completed or are in progress in meet these requirements.
The Course Requirement form can be submitted online or you can fill out the form found in the supplemental application package which can be scanned and emailed to admissions@nipissingu.ca.
Applicant Responsibilities
As an application it is your responsibility to:
- Declare and submit transcripts for ALL postsecondary institutions attended. If any information in your application is determined to be false or misleading, concealed or withheld, your application may be invalidated and this could result in its immediate rejection or in the revocation of an offer of admission or registration at the university. This includes not disclosing all post-secondary education.
- Submit all transcripts and forms must be received by February 8, 2023 AT 4:30 pm EST. All transcripts and forms received by the document deadline will be reviewed. If anything is determined to be incorrect or incomplete it will be rejected. If this happens too close to the document deadline to allow for a re-submission of revised documents then you will not be considered for admission to the program. There are no exceptions for late submissions.
- Be aware of all of the available test dates for the Casper assessment. There is no opportunity to reschedule a test date if you fail to register and complete the test on one of the currently available test dates. All dates are listed on the Casper website. Please direct any inquiries about the test to Casper. There is both an FAQ section and chat function available on their website. You are responsible for securing access to a computer with audio capabilities, a webcam, and a reliable internet connection on the selected test date. Casper can be taken practically anywhere that you can satisfy the requirements. No exceptions will be provided for applicants unable to take Casper online due to being located at sites where internet is not dependable due to technical or political factors.
