If you are a user residing on residence please pay close attention to the "Recommended Computer Specifications" provided below.
Recommended Computer Specifications:
The University does not recommend one particular vendor of laptops/desktop computers over another.
For a laptop we would recommend a unit no more than a couple of years old with at least 1 gigabyte of RAM, and a relatively new operating system with the latest updates installed. A wireless card for laptops is also recommended as the university campus is fully wireless compatible. For a desktop computer, the recommendations are the same as for laptops with the addition of a 100 megabyte Ethernet network card for access to the LAN (local area network).
Users are required to have an anti-virus program (ie. Norton, McAfee, etc.), a personal firewall and bot-cleaning software (ie. Spy-bot, etc.) for them to connect to the university network. The MS Office suite is recommended for word processing or other university course work, some professors may have specific software requirements.
