Studying Nursing at Nipissing University will allow you to take full advantage of the anticipated increased demand for nurses over the next ten years. Nipissing University, in collaboration with Canadore College, offers students a Bachelor of Science in a Nursing degree program that is designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to meet the growing needs of Ontario's health care system.

Classroom experiences range from formal lectures and clinical lab work to small group discussions. Students will study health, disease and illness; clinical technology and procedures; therapeutic communication, observation and interviewing techniques; and problem-solving and decision-making scenarios.
Students of Nipissing's Nursing Program will observe and interact with nurses in specialized settings beginning in first-year. In later terms, clinical experiences will introduce students to patients with a range of health concerns. Students will gradually assume responsibility for complex health-related situations, and under the supervision of a registered nurse will integrate theory and practice in a variety of health care settings.
