Fraud awareness discussion at Nipissing University

Nipissing University’s Criminal Justice Student Association welcomes Detective Staff Sergeant Barry Elliott of the Ontario Provincial Police PhoneBusters for a lecture on fraud awareness on Tuesday October 18, at 8:00 p.m. in room H105.

North Bay, ON, October 13, 2005 — Nipissing University’s Criminal Justice Student Association welcomes Detective Staff Sergeant Barry Elliott of the Ontario Provincial Police PhoneBusters for an important lecture on fraud awareness.  The lecture takes place on Tuesday October 18, at 8:00 p.m. at the university in room H105.

Elliott’s presentation will address consumer concerns from the perspective of students and young adults. Particular emphasis will be placed on how to protect oneself from identity theft, credit card and debit card fraud.

PhoneBusters is a national anti-fraud call centre jointly operated by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The event is open to the public and is free of charge.  Seating is limited.
