Nipissing University receives transformational gift to expand and enhance rare dementia research, support and education nationally

Nipissing University announced a transformational $5M investment to support the continued development and national expansion of Rare Dementia Support Canada (RDS Canada). This gift will support the expansion of dementia research, support services, and education, as well as help establish a dedicated space to house RDS Canada - a centre committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by rare and young-onset dementias.
Community collaboration takes centre court with opening of new beach volleyball facility

The North Bay Youth Volleyball Club Jr. Lakers, Nipissing University, and Canadore College proudly celebrated the grand opening of the Education Centre Beach Volleyball Courts. The four-court facility is the result of a collaborative partnership aimed at promoting youth engagement, athlete development, and community collaboration through sport.

Nipissing University receives $1-million gift from The Peacock Family Foundation

Nipissing University announce the receipt of a $1 million donation from The Peacock Family Foundation in support of student research, Indigenous initiatives, and Rare Dementia Support Canada (RDS Canada). Drs. John and Adrienne Peacock, who received honorary doctorates from Nipissing in 2023, are passionate advocates for post-secondary education across Canada and have made this gift to enhance opportunities for students and faculty at the University.
Nipissing alumni honoured with King Charles III Coronation Medal for community impact

Two Nipissing University alumni have been recognized for the remarkable dedication to service with one of Canada’s most distinguished honours. Paige Trudeau-Shemilt (BBA ’15) and Macrina Perron (BA ’03) were awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal during a special ceremony on campus on April 25, 2025.
