Nipissing celebrates 2025 Staff and Service Award recipients
Last week, staff, faculty gathered in the Nipissing University Small Cafeteria to celebrate the recipients of the 2025 Staff and Service Awards. Each recipient was recognized for their exceptional contributions and service to the University.
“Nipissing University’s staff members are consistently going above and beyond, creating a lasting impact and ensuring we deliver on our promise of excellence,” shared Renee Hacquard, Vice-President, Finance and Administration at Nipissing University. “It is an honour to recognize these individuals for their unwavering commitment and contributions to the Lakers community.”
Staff and faculty were celebrated for their dedication and service, with milestone achievements recognized in five-year increments from 5 to 30 years. These anniversaries highlight their remarkable contributions to the Nipissing community over the years.

In addition to the service awards, Nipissing also recognized two individuals with the Exceptional Performance and Service Award for their dedication to making a positive impact on the student experience and University community. Heather Hersemeyer, Director of University Technology Services, was the recipient of the Administrative Staff Award, and Alexandr Gnuchiy, Analyst for University Technology Services, was the recipient of the Support Staff Award.
The ceremony concluded with a reception where attendees enjoyed light refreshments and the opportunity to connect and celebrate with this year’s honourees.
