Scholarships
Provided to support a student's education; awarded on the basis of academic achievement.
Bursaries
Non-repayable financial aid given to students, on the basis of financial need, to assist with the cost of education.
Awards
Awarded to students on a mix of criteria, including extracurricular involvement, academic performance, leadership skills, volunteer work, or other specified experiences.

You may still qualify for some scholarships, bursaries, or awards, as different opportunities have different criteria. Apply anyway to see what you might be eligible for.
Nipissing University assumes liability for the payment of scholarships, bursaries and other awards only to the extent that expected gifts from donors or returns from particular investments of endowed funds are realized. The University reserves the right to make whatever changes circumstances may require, including the amendment of monetary value, selection criteria and the cancellation of particular awards. Information on the current status of any of these may be obtained by contacting the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office or by visiting the Nipissing University website at www.nipissingu.ca/studentfinancialservices.
Students who feel that their individual circumstances are not being fairly considered when determining eligibility for the aforementioned scholarships, bursaries and awards have the right to submit a written appeal explaining their circumstances to the Undergraduate Services and Awards Committee.

Award Value $600.00Awarded to the full-time BBA student with the highest average (minimum 70%) in the first year on five concurrent courses entering second year full-time BBA studies at Nipissing University. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

NUSU Bachelor of Education Award
Award Value $625.00Presented to an incoming B.Ed student who has demonstrated a commitment to the Nipissing University community during his/her undergraduate studies. The student selected will have displayed leadership in student government and student affairs and made a personal contribution to the life of the University. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

NUSU Service Award
Award Value $600.00Presented to a full-time or part-time Nipissing student who actively engaged in service to the Nipissing University and North Bay community, with preference given to the latter. Candidates cannot include current members of the Student Union Executive. The student's involvement will have upheld NUSU's mandate of servicing the university community while demonstrating academic proficiency. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

NUSU Student Life Award
Award Value $625.00Established in 1993 in commemoration of the first year of Nipissing's status as a university and the University's 25th anniversary. It is presented to a full-time or part-time student who significantly enhanced student life at the University in the preceding academic year. Candidates for nomination cannot include current members of the Student Union. Union Executive or those with council responsibilities; rather the award is intended to recognize any other extra-curricular activities taken on by the nominee. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP.

Ontario Power Generation - Power to Achieve Award
Award Value $2,500.00The Ontario Power Generation – Power to Achieve Award is awarded to two full-time Nipissing students who are in second year or higher and enrolled either Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts - Computer Science, Bachelor of Science - Computer Science or Bachelor of Science Data Science. The recipients must demonstrate financial need, have average of 70% or higher, and be legally eligible to work in Canada upon graduation. Preference for the awards will also be given to students from an equity deserving group. Other: The award will also include priority consideration for student placements (co-op, internship, or similar)at OPG.
