After graduation, Melissa moved to the United States to work and travel where she held multiple roles including inside sales for an animal supplement company, selling products to veterinarians.

Ten years later, she returned to Northern Ontario to begin her second career in banking and held positions in investments, sales, coaching, and branch management. She is currently working with TD Canada Trust as a sales leadership coach where she coaches branch managers across the country.

In 2021, she joined the Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board (NUAAB) so she could get involved in Nipissing’s future as well as encourage more alumni to join.

“Alumni are a very important part of creating the best possible experience for students and they impact the future of the University,” said Melissa.

To Melissa, being a Nipissing alumnus is an opportunity to give back and support a sustainable future for the University. As both a donor and NUAAB member, she feels excited about the future of Nipissing, the changes on campus, and the expansion of programs.

Supporting the growth of the University and helping future students have the same experiences she had as a Nipissing student are what motivated her to make her first gift to the University.

Melissa was recently elected Vice-President of NUAAB where she hopes to increase engagement with past alumni, specifically those who graduated in the early years like herself.

NUAAB provides support for alumni programs, communications, events, branch and chapter outreach, scholarships and other initiatives.
