The 2025 Undergraduate Research Conference (UGRC) at Nipissing University had the campus buzzing with community members and visitors this weekend. The annual event, part of Nipissing University’s Research Month celebrations, showcased the remarkable academic talent of over 90 undergraduate students.

This March, Nipissing University is proud to celebrate Research Month, highlighting faculty and student research across a wide range of disciplines, including STEM, humanities, and social sciences. Through a variety of engaging events, both the university community and the public will have the opportunity to explore innovative ideas, support emerging scholars, and recognize the value of research in shaping our world.

Nipissing University proudly honoured five distinguished alumni during its annual Alumni Awards celebration. The event, held at The Grande Event Centre in North Bay, recognized the exceptional achievements of alumni who have made significant contributions to their professions, communities, and the University. Hosted by the Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board (NUAAB), the awards spanned categories of influence, achievement, rising talent, philanthropy, and honorary recognition.

Do you know an outstanding alumnus deserving of recognition? The Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board is seeking nominations for the 2022 Alumni Awards to recognize individuals whose exemplary accomplishments, service and commitment have brought credit to the University, their communities and their professions.

Only ten people a year receive this award in Canada, and Laura Killam of Cambrian College in Sudbury and Nipissing University of North Bay is one of them. Killam, a faculty member in both Cambrian’s and Nipissing’s Schools of Nursing, has been chosen as one of the 2023 recipients of a 3M National Teaching Fellowship.
