TA Workshop: Planning for Active Learning
In this session, Teaching Assistants will learn a model of lesson planning (BOPPPS) for active learning, while experiencing some active learning techniques along the way that can be adapted in a variety of disciplinary contexts. By the end of the session, TA’s will be able to use a template to plan a learning experience for in-person or online students that includes active learning.

The teaching dossier or portfolio is more than a repository of your teaching record. Starting with your evolving philosophy of teaching as a kind of thesis, your portfolio can become an argument about your skills growth, pointing to evidence from your grading and/or teaching practice. Come to this session to kickstart your teaching portfolio or to enhance an existing one.
