Nipissing University announces 2026 honorary degree recipients

North Bay, ON – Nipissing University will present five distinguished leaders with honorary degrees, the University’s highest distinction, during its upcoming Convocation ceremonies, June 8-10, 2026.
Recipients are selected for their noteworthy contributions to Nipissing University, their respective fields, and broader impact on society. The 2026 honorary degree recipients are:
- Lise Maisonneuve, receiving an Honorary Doctor of Letters on Monday, June 8 at 2 p.m.
- Anthony Rota, receiving an Honorary Doctor of Letters on Tuesday, June 9 at 9:30 a.m.
- Marianne Berube, receiving an Honorary Doctor of Letters on Tuesday, June 9 at 2 p.m.
- Lisa LaFlamme, receiving an Honorary Doctor of Education on Wednesday, June 10 at 9:30 a.m.
- Beckie Scott, receiving an Honorary Doctor of Education on Wednesday, June 10 at 2 p.m.

Nipissing University’s Convocation ceremonies will take place June 8 to 10, 2026 at the R.J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre, where more than 1,000 students will cross the stage. Each honorary degree recipient will address graduating students as part of the celebration of academic achievement, perseverance, and community.
