Information sessions to highlight the benefits of renting to post-secondary students

North Bay, ON – Nipissing University and Canadore College’s Off Campus Living Team is hosting public information sessions during the month of April for homeowners in North Bay interested in renting space to post-secondary students.

Information sessions will take place on:

  • Friday, April 21 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom
  • Wednesday, April 26 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Harris Learning Library (100 College Drive, North Bay, Ontario)

The presentations will answer questions about renting to students, discuss protections for landlords, and highlight the benefits of renting to post-secondary students, including international students new to the community.

“As the housing shortage across the province continues, we are encouraging members of the community to learn about the many benefits of renting space to students and the important role it plays in making students feel at home in our city,” said Kevin Wamsley, President and Vice-Chancellor, Nipissing University.

"Students' ability to succeed academically depends on safe and secure living,” said Canadore College President and CEO George Burton.  “Living with local families provides post-secondary students with the support and community involvement they need. Families who welcome our students into their homes will have a wonderful experience because of the diversity and richness our students offer to the community.”

Nipissing University and Canadore College partner with Places4Students.com to manage off-campus listings and to assist students in securing off-campus housing.
