Ms. Madelaine Drohan: Fending off the Americans for 250 Years

The Canadian International Council (CIC) Nipissing District Branch, The Village at Canadore College, and the Nipissing University Department of History are pleased to welcome our speaker for March 2026, Ms. Madelaine Drohan. Ms. Drohan's presentation is entitled; “Fending off the Americans for 250 Years.” She will be presenting from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026 in the Flexroom, at the Village at Canadore College, North Bay.
This event is free and open to the public. Madelaine Drohan is a senior fellow at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, University of Ottawa, a former Canada correspondent for The Economist, and a former foreign correspondent for The Globe and Mail. During her long journalism career, she covered politics, economics, and business in Africa, Asia, Canada, and Europe. Her latest book is: He Did Not Conquer: Benjamin Franklin’s Failure to Annex Canada. There will be a book signing and reception following the event.
