Monika Krzywania

Biography

Monika is a geographer whose work explores human and environmental health, and, perhaps more importantly, the connections between the two. Her recent work has examined these topics as they relate to health care and food systems, especially in northern and rural communities. A PhD Candidate in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Northern British Columbia, she is currently completing her SSHRC-funded dissertation study, Geographies of Northern Perinatal Care, which investigates how to keep perinatal care as safe, effective, and as close to home as possible for residents of Northern Ontario.
