Inquiries are welcome for prospective students seeking supervision in the MSc in Kinesiology program. BPHE students are welcome to inquire about PHED 4995 Research Project. Please email me directly to discuss these research opportunities under my supervision.

Research
Research Interests
I am interested in elucidating injury mechanisms of the musculoskeletal system, especially those that relate to cumulative trauma disorders of the forearm, wrist, and hand. Toward that goal, my lab-based research spans a number of research modalities, including marker-less motion capture, ultrasound, and high-density electromyography to assess musculoskeletal function in both optimal and fatigued states. As opportunities arise, I also complete field-based research projects on injury prevention in the workplace, especially in relation to the forearm, wrist, and hand.

- Recent research funding as a principal investigator includes:
- Understanding neuromusculoskeletal interactions underlying biomechanics and control of the human hand. Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (Discovery Grants Competition), $161,000 from 2017-2024.
- Recent teaching funding as a co-investigator includes:
- Purchase of innovative portable motion capture equipment to revolutionize experiential learning for students in Physical and Health Education [PHE], Kinesiology, and other health related program areas. Training and Equipment Renewal Fund (TERF) through the Government of Ontario, $466,410 from 2025-2026.
