Per the Ontario Government’s Tuition Fee Framework and Ancillary Fee Guidelines for Publicly Assisted Universities, the Government has now created a distinction between essential and non-essential fees and services and the related ancillary fees for those services. ​​​​​​​Fees that the Government has defined as essential are now mandatory for all students enrolled at Nipissing, regardless of program/campus.
Fees that the Government has now defined as non-essential, students are able to opt out of.

Nipissing University believes that all qualified students should have access to postsecondary education. To demonstrate this, we have committed to partnering with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in the Student Access Guarantee.
