Nipissing University invites applications for Part-Time Course Instructors/Clinical Instructors during the 26FW academic year, Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms. This appointment is offered on a per-course, limited-term basis and is subject to enrollment and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a master’s degree in nursing or a related field
- At least one degree in nursing (BScN or equivalent)
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Relevant clinical and/or teaching experience aligned with the course content
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a post-secondary nursing education environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, or doctoral study in progress
- Previous experience teaching in a university or college nursing program
- Experience with concept-based curricula, curriculum development, or course coordination
- Experience with simulation-based education, laboratory instruction, or experiential learning
- Familiarity with learning technologies, learning management systems, and online or hybrid teaching environments
- Evidence of scholarly or professional engagement related to nursing education or practice
Clinical Qualifications:
- Relevant recent clinical practice experience aligned with the clinical course focus
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and support students in clinical practice setting
- Previous experience as a clinical instructor, preceptor, or mentor in nursing education
- Demonstrated experience in student evaluation and clinical assessment
- Experience supporting learners in specialty practice areas relevant to the course
- Experience with simulation, debriefing, or structured clinical learning activities
- Strong understanding of regulatory, professional, and agency-specific expectations related to clinical education
- For NSGD 3706 - Previous experience managing a health-focused group research project
- For NSGD 3707 -Previous experience with the Calgary Family Assessment Model/Calgary Family Intervention Model
Duties:
- Responsible for all instruction and evaluation for the portion of the course to which they are assigned
- Will be available to meet with students outside of the official classroom time
- Complete mandatory training requirements, review and follow Nipissing University's policies and procedures
