About
Robin Alex McDonald is an arts writer, independent curator, art historian and visual culture scholar. Their research interests include contemporary art and visual culture studies; the intersections of art and activism; queer, feminist, and trans theories; affect theory; discourses of “madness” and “mental health;” and alternative curatorial methodologies. McDonald’s writing has been published in Literature and Medicine, TheatreForum, Queer Studies in Media and Popular Culture, n.paradoxa, nomorepotlucks, esse, Spiffy Moves, and other arts magazines and academic journals.

McDonald currently teaches courses on curation and museum studies, critical theories of art visual culture, art produced within so-called “Canada,” modern and contemporary art histories, and gender and film.
