Chippewa takes 2022 Nipissing Business Case Challenge
On November 3rd, the School of Business hosted the Business Case Challenge for the first time in 4 years. Approximately 30 students from Chippewa Intermediate & Secondary School and École Secondaire Catholique Algonquin participated in the all-day event.
This year’s case asked students what recruitment initiatives they would use to entice students to the School of Business. The teams were required to create a value proposition and offer ideas that they would use if they were a part of the marketing and/or recruitment departments. All students represented themselves commendably in the competition.
The School of Business would like to congratulate Samantha Taylor, Patrick Martel, Eden Wilson and Samuel Boivin, from Ms. Prisco’s class at Chippewa Intermediate and Secondary School for placing first in the Business Challenge!
These students were presented with the Nipissing Business Challenge Bowl and will receive $500 towards tuition at Nipissing University.
All first-year School of Business students are required to take Introductory Financial Accounting I - ACCT 1106 and Introductory Financial Accounting II - ACCT 1107.
Some students who have never taken accounting before can find these courses challenging as they do not have a strong foundation in the basic accounting rules and terminology. This self assessment quiz will help give you an idea of what will be covered.
