The Summer Indigenous Institute is a 2 week university transition program for first-year, Indigenous students who will be attending Nipissing University, Algoma University, Lakehead University or Laurentian University this fall.
The purpose of this program is to allow students to gain a head start on university while engaging with their peers in a first-year virtual learning Indigenous studies course, INDG-1506 "On the Land, From the Land".
The course, is taught by Indigenous faculty while holistic supports are provided by student mentors and professional staff in the Office of Indigenous Initiatives.
