This October, the District of Nipissing Social Service Administration Board (DNSSAB) will be coordinating, in partnership with various community agencies, the annual District-wide homelessness point-in-time count and survey, working towards the implementation of the District’s very first operational By-Name List registry. With 41 registered partners, and approximately 50 survey locations, the DNSSAB is reaching out to the students of Canadore College and Nipissing University who may be interested in taking part in this important first step in a new approach to ending chronic homelessness in the Nipissing District. We are calling this event, “Nipissing Counts 2021”.
Volunteer positions vary from administrative duties to surveying opportunities. Students will have the chance to gain valuable experience working with vulnerable populations, survey implementation, and/or carrying out administrative tasks all while producing meaningful change.
