HOURS OF WORK:                 UP TO 10 HOURS PER WEEK

RATE OF PAY:                         $14.00/HR PLUS VACATION PAY

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Student Experience Assistant assists the department in planning, implementing, and assessing student experience programming including various orientation and transition programs.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

The Student Experience Assistant will assist with the following:

  • Developing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive programs, initiatives, and services for a diverse student population with various stakeholders;
  • Interacting with diverse student populations throughout the student life cycle (e.g., prospective students in advance of Open House events, incoming students in advance of New Student Orientation);
  • Preparing content for multiple audiences across different formats (online, print, etc.) as required;
  • Promoting the department through social media channels
  • Researching and data gathering relating to best practices within student development and services;
  • Participate in ongoing professional development including in-service opportunities provided by the department;
  • Completion of utilization and satisfaction reports; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

                                                                                   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must apply and be approved for the NUWORK Program.
  • Student (2nd year and above) with strong academic standing (cumulative average of 75% or higher).
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of Nipissing University programs, initiatives, and services that promote student academic and personal success.
