Day camp counsellors spend their workdays on top-tier watersports boats, coaching groups of up to 10 campers (ages 6-14). We are searching for experienced and dependable day camp counsellors to teach wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and flyboarding to kids of all skill levels. Staff housing available if needed.
Job Type: Summer
Hours: 40-44 hours/week
Wages: Starting at $15/hour
Duties and Qualifications:
- Coaching campers, all skill levels
- Equipment maintenance: covering and uncovering boats, tracking boat hours, storage and care of boards, ropes, lifejackets, etc.
- Driving and docking boats
- Driving and docking jetskis (flyboarding lessons)
Requirements:
- WSWC NCCP Level 1 Wakeboard and Waterski Instructors Certification (can be acquired in June 2022)
- Valid Boater’s License (valid as of June 1, 2022)
- Valid Driver’s License (valid as of June 1, 2022)
- Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification
- Experience or willing to learn wakeboarding/wakesurfing/waterskiing
- Experience or willing to learn instructing watersports OR experience coaching of another board/extreme sport
- Experience driving boats
- Experience as a camp counsellor is preferred but not required
Desired skills/traits: Teamwork, Verbal communication, Problem-solving, Punctuality, Thorough and detail-oriented in completing tasks
