The School of Nursing in the Faculty of Education and Professional Studies at Nipissing University invites applications from qualified candidates for two tenure track positions at the Assistant Professor level commencing January 1, 2023 to support its on-campus and online programs. 

This is an opportunity to join a growing School of Nursing in a university that focuses on quality undergraduate teaching and research while looking to establish a graduate program for nurses. The school has a strong reputation for being student-centred and providing students with rich practice-based learning opportunities. We are strengthening the inclusion of Indigenous knowledges and understandings in relation to health, wellness, and healing, with an emphasis on anti-racist and anti-oppressive teaching frameworks. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one (1) graduate degree in Nursing. Completion or near completion of a Ph.D. in nursing or a related discipline would be considered an asset. In addition, the successful candidate must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario or be eligible for licensure. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and evidence of teaching experience and expertise within post-secondary settings; having publications and funded research project experience is considered an asset. Candidates with a good understanding of nursing education in an academic environment will be given preference. The successful candidate will ideally have recent clinical, research, and/or teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: northern/rural nursing, community/public health, and mental health/psychiatric nursing.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will be effective January 1, 2023.
