Adaptive Technology

Student Accessibility Services has many tools which students registered with us can access to accommodate barrier free learning. Upon approval from your Accessibility Consultant, computers, smart pens, digital recorders, FM systems, and other technology is available for short term loan. Whether it is a loan or a BSWD equipment purchase, training with these tools and software programs is provided by the Adaptive Technology Technician. Student Accessibility Services also has in-office testing facilities and Adaptive Technology Rooms, located in the Harris Learning Library, all of which have computers loaded with assistive software.

The Adaptive Technology Technician (ATT) also assists students with assistive technology purchases, installation of assistive software, and training with assistive software and equipment. The ATT also troubleshoots and provides some servicing for students registered with Student Accessibility Services. Lastly, the ATT provides transcription services for alternate format requests, including textbooks and tests.
